For those who’ve never tried it, oil cleansing is a great alternative to water-based cleansers, and is also a great first step in a two-step cleansing routine. Be advised that if you haven’t used oil cleansing before, there may be a break-in period where skin may behave differently than your usual. Generally, this subsides after a week or two. Curious to try? After performing a 24-hour patch test to make sure that there are no allergy issues, rub a few drops of oil all over face and neck for around 30 seconds, making sure not to get oil in eyes or nose. Gently rinse off, using a washcloth if you prefer, but make sure to be gentle! You’re done, unless you prefer to follow with a foaming cleanser. Some folks may not need a moisturizer after oil cleansing, but many do. Either way, you’re all set!
